    Leonardo D'Urso

    Leonardo D’Urso is a full-time mediator, co-founder and CEO of ADR Center, Adjunct Professor at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at the School of Law of Pepperdine University (CA, USA) a mediation expert at CEPEJ - Council of Europe and Board Member of the Weinstein International Foundation. With more than 20 years’ experience in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), he has mediated more than 1.200 national and international complex civil and commercial mediations.

    He is an ADR policy advisor for Governments and has been a team leader and senior expert in several international projects in countries like Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Barbados, Jamaica, Jordan, India, Moldova, Oman, Tunisia, Turkey, Pakistan, Serbia and most of Europen Union Member States.

    Author of several publications on negotiation and mediation, he is the co-organizer of the Italian editions of the workshop “Negotiation for Executives” of the Program on Negotiation (PON Global) at Harvard Law School.

    Christine Maksoud

    Christine is a Lebanese qualified lawyer and a solicitor of England & Wales with 14 years of PQE. She has been practicing in the UAE since 2016. She is a senior counsel at Al Tamimi & Company, leading the mediation practice, an IMI-accredited mediator, a Weinstein JAMS Fellow and a mediation trainer. She is the Founder of the Mediation Hub MENA. Christine is included on the roster of mediators of the World Bank Group’s Compliance Advisor Ombudsman (CAO). She is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and an appraiser on the IMI Mediation Advocacy Appraisal Sub-Committee. She has expertise in resolving disputes as a party representative and a mediator through alternative methods such as mediation, conciliation and settlement counseling.

    Zeinab Jaafar

    Zeinab Jaafar is a registered lawyer at the Bar Association in Lebanon, an accredited mediator, and an ICF certified Coach in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). She holds a master’s degree in international law, as well as a master’s degree in domestic and international arbitration from the University of Montpellier, France. She is an accredited mediator at the Federal Mediation Commission in Belgium, as well as at the ADR Centre and the International Mediation Institution IMI. Zeinab has extensive practical experience in the field of mediation and has founded ZMediation activity during her stay in Belgium, through which she provided professional training services in partnership with renowned training institutions in Belgium and Lebanon. She adopted an innovative training approach that imparts technical knowledge to mediators in a transformative manner and helps them develop their core skills. Zeinab has worked as a mediator in several institutions in Antwerp, Belgium, where she contributed to numerous initiatives aimed at conflict prevention and empowering conflicting parties to find amicable solutions. Zeinab offers her services in the fields of law, mediation, and training in three different languages: Arabic, French, and English. She moved to Dubai two years ago and currently serves as a partner mediator at Al Safar and Partners Law firm and as a trainer at the ADR Center.

    • Do I need any kind of equipment to attend the course?

      You don't need any equipment to join this in-person course. When needed in class, the training faculty will use ADR Center's equipment. Yet, at times, the trainers may ask participants to use their smartphones to connect to real-time polls.

    • What if I miss one live session?

      It will be ok. We require a minimum of 90% attendance for a successful completion of the course.

    • What if I fail the final assessment?

      We provide a second possibility to take the final assessment.

    • Do I need to have a legal background?

      No.

    • Do I need to have a good proficiency in English?

      You will need to interact with other participants and with the trainers. Also, you will have to be able to read course materials and to write assignments. English proficiency will be needed.

      Upon request, we can organize a course in your own language for a group of participants. This will include additional costs for simultaneous interpretation.
